JBDC & the Digital Jamaica Project

Only 6.82% of MSMEs in Jamaica have focused on staff training for technical skills in the last five years. This low engagement rate suggests that there is a considerable opportunity for enhancing the technological capabilities within these enterprises. The minimal investment in technology-focused staff training indicates that many businesses may be ill-prepared to efficiently manage and adapt to the rapidly evolving digital landscape, potentially hindering their growth and competitiveness.

Through the Digital Jamaica Project, 2700 MSMEs will be trained in areas including Email Marketing as well as use and application of other digital technologies in business operations. The multi-sectoral Project is fully funded by the European Union (EU) and will be implemented by the Ministry of Industry, Investment & Commerce (MIIC) through the Jamaica Business Development Corporation (JBDC).
