A major highlight of the recent ‘Breakfast with the CEO’ stakeholder event held at the AC Hotel in Kingston was the presentation of awards to four local entrepreneurs.
The Jamaica Business Development Corporation (JBDC) annually awards exceptional local entrepreneurs through its B.O.S.S MAN and B.O.S.S LADY of the Year initiative. B.O.S.S. Man and B.O.S.S. Lady Awards are given to entrepreneurs who embody the entrepreneurial spirit and mindset, embrace a culture of innovation, has evidenced significant change in revenue, entered the export market/increased the value of current exports, introduced a new product/service into the market, and is a JBDC Ambassador.

Eileen Dunkley-Shim of Netty’s Farm was awarded B.O.S.S Lady of the Year and Body by Roxanne’s Kemisha Oates was this year’s runner-up. Wouter Tjeertes of Pure Chocolate copped the title of B.O.S.S Man of the Year while Richard Robinson of Gemisis Jamaica was the runner-up.

B.O.S.S. MAN and B.O.S.S. LADY are graduated versions of our B.O.S.S MAN and B.O.S.S LADY empowerment events or workshops in which entrepreneurs on both occasions have benefited from topical discussions and workshops.

The B.O.S.S for ladies means BUILDING OPPORTUNITIES FOR SWEET SUCCESS.

The B.O.S.S for the men means BUILDING OPPORTUNITIES FOR STRONG SUCCESS.

Combined, the B.O.S.S means BUILDING OPPORTUNITIES STRONG AND SWEET!
