Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Jamaica Business Development Corporation (JBDC) Harold Davis says while there is an increase in the number of members of the creative sector developing the entrepreneurial discipline needed to generate the potential vast financial returns from the sector, the majority are still not doing so.
Speaking in an interview on Radio Jamaica’s Real Business on Thursday, Davis stressed that this is one of the main reasons that members of the financial sector treat members of the creative industries with a such a scant regard.
He also pointed out that this entrepreneural indiscipline makes it difficult for the financial sector to understand the workings of the creative industries, and as a result it is underfunded, to the detriment of itself and the overall economy.
