JBDC Virtual Biz Zone – Strategic Modernisation through Technology & Financing

Micro and small agro-processors across Jamaica are being encouraged to embrace smarter production methods as they seek to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and strengthen their competitiveness in an increasingly demanding marketplace.
In support this effort, the Jamaica Business Development Corporation (JBDC) will use its quarterly Biz Zone Webinars to host a two-part webinar series focussed on Smart Agro-Processing techniques for this specific group of entrepreneurs.
Under the overarching theme of Smart Agro-Processing, the sessions will be delivered through two sub-themes: Strategic Modernisation through Technology & Financing and Agile Resilience in Trade: Strategies to sustain Productivity in disruption.
Scheduled for June 9 & 23, respectively, the sessions will be conducted by Technical Services Manager at the JBDC, Colin Porter.
The sessions will explore innovative approaches to agro-processing, including the use of technology, improved production planning, quality control measures, and cost-saving techniques. Participants will gain insights into how smart processing practices can help them maximize the value of locally sourced agricultural products while meeting industry standards and consumer expectations.
As the agro-processing sector continues to play a critical role in value-added production, employment creation, and food security, industry stakeholders are emphasizing the importance of innovation and continuous improvement.
The webinar aims to empower small businesses with the knowledge needed to scale their operations, access new markets, and build more resilient enterprises in a rapidly evolving business environment the growth and sustainability of Jamaica’s micro and small agro-processing sector.
