Creative entrepreneurs across Jamaica are expected to benefit from expanded business support following a new partnership between Kingston Creative and the Jamaica Business Development Corporation (JBDC).
The two organisations have signed a memorandum of understanding, making Kingston Creative the newest member of Jamaica’s Small Business Development Centre (SBDC) Network.
The agreement will give micro, small and medium-sized enterprises in the cultural and creative industries access to free and low-cost business coaching, training and advisory services.
Jamaica’s estimated 425,000 micro, small and medium-sized enterprises face common challenges, including limited access to financing, markets, digital transformation and business skills.
The Kingston Creative Small Business Development Centre is scheduled to begin operations in August, with a pilot group of 40 entrepreneur, before expanding access to the wider creative community.
