North Coast Craft Revitalization Project

 What is the north coast craft revitalization project?

The North Coast Craft Revitalization Project (NCCRP) is a collaborative effort between the Jamaica Business Development Corporation and the Tourism Enhancement Fund. The Project is aimed at improving the competitiveness and income generating capabilities of craft producers in the North Coast Region of the island and specifically in the parishes of St. Ann, St. James and Trelawny.

The project is expected to address the following issues faced by the Craft Industry:

  • The need for improvements in product quality, finishing and designs
  • The need for use of appropriate technologies and equipment
  • The need for appropriate business development skills and practices
  • The need for improvement and upgrading of traditional product development skills
  • The need for improved and diversified product ranges

Who can participate?

Craft Producers involved in the production of but not limited to:

  • Fashion Accessories (Jewellery, sandals, scarves, belts, bags, etc)
  • Souvenir and gifts (key rings, greeting cards, toys, etc)
  • Home and garden (wall items, clocks, vase, woven items, carvings, utensils, etc)
  • Entertainment (books, games etc)
  • Aromatherapy (hand-made soaps, oils, lotions, etc)


How will I benefit from the nccrp?

The NCCRP will help craft producers identify gaps within their operations, market competitiveness and products.

Each participating Craft producer can benefit from the following services:

  • Business Training
  • Product Development Training
  • Assistance with Business Formalization
  • Assistance with various certification and registration of intellectual property, etc
  • Product Development Handholding and Skills Training
  • Assistance with identifying and sourcing equipment and tools
  • Market Access and Promotional Support
