What are our services?
BAS offers a range of services which can be categorized under one of the two following umbrellas:
- Business Consultation
- Business Development
The BAS team also works closely with other teams to deliver a complete business development package to our clients. These are discussed below.
Services can be delivered as stand-alone packages, or as components of a wider project. For example, a client needing a Business Plan may also require product labeling or product development is a service that can be delivered independently of a wider project. A client could ask for that service alone, pay for it, and the delivery of such would conclude the Centre's intervention with the client. Also, the same service could be a component of a wider project that focuses on developing a customer's product.
Business Consultation
A general assessment made of any business type to determine feasibility and to identify areas of assistance needed to achieve business growth, and sustainability. The customer will only move from this stage to Business Development or other services if, at this stage it is determined to be a productive business or idea.
Some Business Development services that the Centre provides are:
- Business Start-up and Growth Advise
- Registration and other Regulatory Requirements Guidance
- Financial Analysis
- Business Development Training
- Business Plan Development
- Business Clinics Island wide especially rural communities. JBDC takes its services and invite other agencies mandated to facilitate the development of the MSME
- Business Opportunity Evenings- where entrepreneurs are introduced to new and exciting business ideas, or better approach to business management.

- Capacity Planning
- Assistance on Inventory Control
- Material Sourcing Information
- Pattern Grading, Making and Prototype
- Plant Layout Analysis
Some Graphic Designing and Product Development services that are provided include:
- Collateral Material Development
- Collection Conceptualization
- Design Brief
- Label Design
- Logo Design
- Merchandising (via Centre-owned establishments)
- Packaging design
- Product Conceptualization/Design/Prototyping
- Promotional Material Design
How do we deliver our services?
At the heart of the delivery of our services is the philosophy that our customers are our partners, and we enter into partnership with them in obtaining some measurable objectives. This is one of the distinguishing features of JBDC that is tried and proven as one of the best service delivery methods. We believe that our customers have the potential to overcome their challenges in most instances, and we act as facilitators and supporters of this process. This paradigm is ratified by our service standards, which we consider in the next section, and executed by the workgroups, which we will consider further on.
At any given moment, BASs interaction with any client can be broken down into four(4) stages. These are:
- Customer Query/ Initial Screening - which involves an assessment of the customer's needs and delivery of information concerning JBDC services or that of our partner agencies
- Detailed Assessment or Advice/Counseling - which involves the detailed assessment of the business/ idea which might be conducted at the office or at the customer's business place and delivery of a professional opinion to the customer which can, if heeded, affect the normal functioning or direction of their enterprise
- Project - involves the delivery of a combination of JBDC service packages to produce a solution for or improvement to the business
- Promotion - refers to any activity that lends itself to the promotion and merchandising of a product to increase market awareness
