Lucea, Hanover… The Jamaica Business Development Corporation (JBDC) and the Hanover Chamber of Commerce recently launched the Jamaica Business Development Information Centre (JAMBIC) in the Town of Lucea, Hanover.
Named The Hanover Chamber Business Centre, the facility will further stimulate the development of the parish by providing a suite of salient business development services to Micro Small and Medium-sized businesses in the parish.
Speaking at the opening of the facility, Minister of Industry Technology Energy and Commerce, the Hon. Philip Paulwell re-iterated the Governments commitment, stating that “the establishment of the Hanover JAMBIC is very timely and supports the major government initiative designed to empower Jamaican’s through small and micro enterprise development”.
Among the services to be provided through this office are: business plan development, loan & grant applications processing, website design, Internet marketing & training, staff development, employment job bank, marketing & public relations services, legal services, product development, trademark registration, printing service, business consultation and administrative services. Additionally, JAMBIC intends to provide regular training workshops incorporating agencies and institutions that provide support to the MSME sector.
JBDC, an agency of the Ministry of Industry Technology Energy and Commerce, launched the JAMBIC project in July 2006. The project is a collaborative effort among Private and Public sector entities that share the vision of the sustainable development of small businesses in Jamaica.
To date, the Centres have been established at the JBDC’s Head office at 14 Camp Road, the Chamber of Commerce, Montego Bay and the Jamaica Employers Federation. |
