The Board of Directors, Executive Management and Staff of the Jamaica Business Development Centre (JBDC) extend hearty Congratulations to Chief Executive Officer, Ms. Valerie Veira, J.P on her recent appointment to the Executive Board of the Centre for the Development of Enterprise (CDE). She has been appointed for a period of five years and will represent the Caribbean region.

CDE is an international organization established by the European Union (EU) and the African Caribbean Pacific (ACP) countries within the framework of the Cotonou Agreement. The CDE’s includes in its mandate, supporting and enhancing private sector development within ACP Countries.

Having over 31 years experience in the field of Industrial Development, Ms Veira brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the Executive Board. She has led a number of Industry Development Programmes with particular emphasis on the Micro Small Medium-sized (MSMEs) Sector. Ms. Veira currently serves on a number of public and private sector Boards. She has spearheaded several negotiations on technical assistance with a number of International Organizations. Ms. Veira has participated in a number of international training programmes focused on industrial development and productivity improvement. Included in these institutions is the ILO Centre in Turin, Italy. She is a graduate of the University of the West Indies (Mona) and holds a Masters Degree in Public Administration from Harvard University.

Ms. Veira is one of three newly appointed members to the CDE’s Executive Board .The Centre is located in Brussels, Belgium.
